Image and Reality

The term has come to an end and finally I have the outcomes for my first project about Image and Reality.

We can't establish a fixed relationship between image and reality other than the subjective impression we get from the world that surround us: our unconsciousness guides us in the way we relate images to abstract thoughts. That's why we can think of a layered reality made up of different individual interpretations of it. In order to include this concepts in my work I created this proposed outcomes. They are photographed projected images, intercepted by squared blank canvases that bring forward pieces of the image. 

Thanks to a photographic correspondence with two talented photographers from Barcelona -Lucas Hope (http://vimeo.com/lucashope) and Agnès Garcia Mateo- I got some of the photographs that I would use in the projections to create this kind of surreal images.

Tooting Market Night

The other day the guys from Everest played inside the Tooting Broadway Market. The place had a really nice and strange atmosphere at night, with some decoration ready for Halloween, some lights... I'm trying to use as much as I can an old flashlight I found at home not a long ago and little by little I'm learning how to use it properly!

Tourists

New analog camera

Finally back in London, after a long break in Barcelona, I could develop some rolls of film shot with a new camera I got from my uncle. The lenses he got were not really the ones I like working with and I decided using ones of my digital DSLR's camera. 

So, these are some of the results from mixing an analog Nikon F50 with a 17-50mm f/2.8 Tamron lenses. I haven't found out the technical reason why this kind of vignet effect crops circularly the images. I guess it must be something related to the fact my DSLR is not a full frame camera.
