Steve

Steve Higgins is a luthier from America living in Barcelona. In his workshop he's building any kind of string instruments, as well as giving lessons in how to build them, giving you the opportunity to make your own guitar, for example!

In the workshop you get involved in a very special atmosphere, with his dog, Thor, going around, and a cat, Charlie, meowing, as well as Steve playing and singing like a cowboy.

The Singer not the Song

Last Saturday some good friends of mine played in Cabaret Berlin (Barcelona) with their band The Southern Howl. It had been a long time since I saw them playing live for the last time and I was really surprised by the singer's performance. She did amazingly well.

Balconies

A city can be large and cosmopolitan or so small that you could consider it a town. But, to me, what makes up the richness of a city in terms of interest is the diversity you can find within it.

Since this is one of the things that I appreciate more from Barcelona, my city of origin, I decided to focus my set of pictures in balconies with hanging laundries, which is an element that I find very characteristic from one of the most humble quarters of the city, El Raval.

Churchs and Godfathers

While editing some of the pictures from a Church I went to yesterday, I noticed how much the whole atmosphere of the place reminded me The Godfather trilogy. Even though Gordon Willis (Coppola's films' director of Photography) used really yellowish shades for skins and interior lights, which has not much to do with mine, I can't help thinking about the Church scenes of the movies.
